SHOWROOM PORTFOLIO OF ORIGINAL SHOP LOCATION The Blind Alley was founded April 1st, 1984 in Bellevue, Washington by Gene & Kurt Evers and located in a building adjacent to our present location. The first retail space was little more than 900 square feet. Here is the customers view of the showroom in 1984 from the entry.
Levolor Riviera 1" Mini Blinds accounted for over 85% of product sales at Blind Alley in 1984.
Real Wood Blinds in 1" and 2" slats were just starting to show sales growth in 1984.
Blind Alley won the first of many Sales Awards from Custom Bilt Products (now Hunter Douglas Northwest) for Outstanding Sales of Verosol Pleated Shades in 1985.
In 1986 we expanded into the space next door, doubling our showroom size and allowing us to display, for the first time, custom draperies and hardware.
In September 1988 Blind Alley moved across the parking lot from our original location with 2700 square feet to our present location and we now occupy nearly 7500 square feet of retail showroom, Hunter Douglas Gallery, office, warehouse and manufacturing space.
