DURABILITY COMES
STANDARD WITH
HUNTER DOUGLAS ALOUETTE® LIGHTLOUVERS
Don't be Fooled by
Appearances
Although Hunter Douglas Alouette LightLouvers
look so light and airy, it doesn't mean they're fragile. The Alouette product is one tough
window fashion - it can even withstand abuse from young children!

Here's why the Alouette product is so durable:
 |
Louvers are made
of non- woven 100 percent polyester
|
 |
Elliptical shape
of louvers provides stability
|
 |
Interior of
louvers is reinforced with laminated fibers and thermoset chemistry, causing louvers to
bounce back to their original shape, even when dramatically deflected
|
 |
Fabric louvers
are easy to clean and maintain
|
 |
Aluminum
headrail is coated with an ultra-durable paint
|
 |
Fabric bottom
rail is encased in polycarbonate with an extruded aluminum rear support
|
 |
The most tested
product in Hunter Douglas history - withstanding UV rays, heat and cold, humidity and
extensive field testing
|
What's
so Great About Polyester?
The term "100 percent polyester" is tossed around
a lot when describing Hunter Douglas premium window fashions. What is it about this fabric
that makes it so durable? Polyester (the official name is polyethylene naphthalate) is a
polymer, which is a fancy name for plastic that is made into the fibers used in fabric.
Polyester has many fine qualities - it's strong, crisp and resilient, yet has a soft hand.
It's also resistant to stretching, shrinking and most chemicals, is washable and quick
drying. Polyester also retains heat-set pleats and creases, and is resistant to wrinkles,
mildew and abrasion, which makes it ideal for our window fashions. |
