Typically sheer or semi-sheer fabric is used for the top panel, and opaque or semi-opaque fabric is used for the bottom panel, with both center and bottom moving rails to provide light control and versatility.

Hunter Douglas Duette Honeycomb Shades Provide Optimal Light Control

Whether you want complete privacy or sunlight filtered through a beautiful sheer fabric, you'll find fabric options ideally suited to your light control needs. Hunter Douglas Duette shades provide a variety of light control and privacy options.

Translucent fabrics allow you to enjoy the light, while preserving privacy. For maximum light control, the blackout fabric blocks 99% of the light and assures absolute privacy.

Breezy Cleaning

Care and Cleaning: Durability is a hallmark of Hunter Douglas Duette honeycomb shades. The strong, anti-static fabrics repel dust and dirt. Consequently, they require little cleaning and maintenance.

Regular dusting with a feather duster is all that's necessary in most circumstances.

For a more thorough cleaning, the fabric can be lightly vacuumed with a brush attachment.

Sponge or Spot Cleaning: When needed, all Duette fabrics can be cleaned by gently blotting with a soft, damp cloth or sponge, using lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the fabric. Take special care when cleaning blackout fabrics to avoid creasing.

Basin or Bathtub Cleaning: For Duette Semi-Opaque 3/8”, 3/4”, Double and Triple Honeycomb on Standard or EasyRise headrails only. Do not immerse any other headrails.

To clean the entire shade, immerse the assembly in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and move it around lightly with your fingers. Wash for about five minutes, then rinse with clean water.

Close the shade before removing it from the rinse water. Holding the rails, tilt the shade to allow excess water to escape. Re-install the damp shade back into the window opening and lower the shade all the way to allow it to dry completely.

Important Cautions: Do not immerse Duette blackout fabrics. Do not immerse Duette Skyrise shades. Do not immerse any Duette battery powered or motorized headrails.

Ultrasonic Cleaning: Professional ultrasonic cleaning is generally a very safe and effective method for comprehensively cleaning a Hunter Douglas Duette honeycomb shade. However, the shade should be handled carefully and only mild cleansing solutions should be used. In addition, the fabric should be in a stacked or closed position when being removed from the tank so that water cannot become trapped in the honeycombs.

Important Cautions: Do not ultrasonically clean Duette blackout fabrics. Do not ultrasonically clean Duette EasyRise or Skyrise shades. The On-Site™ Injection/Extraction Cleaning Process can be used on these (and all other) Duette fabrics.

Duette Honeycomb Shades From Hunter Douglas Absorb Sound

Duette® honeycomb shades feature a unique honeycomb construction that "traps" air for superior energy efficiency and provides softly diffused light that cuts the glare and heat. Duette honeycomb shades also are highly sound absorptive.

The fabric style showcased on the sliding doors above is the Majestic™ semi-opaque fabric in the 1¼" honeycomb pleat which absorbs 60 percent of reflected sound. Also shown, the Vertiglide™ hardware system which allows the honeycomb fabric to be oriented vertically with the shade operating sideways.

Offering heights up to 120-inches and no bottom rail, Duette with Vertiglide is ideal for covering windows of this type and stacks back to a mere six inches.
