The fabric louvers filter and soften exterior light. When opened, the view through the louvers is crystal clear. When the louvers are closed, privacy is complete. Designers for the show worked with Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery® dealer Dawn Driskill of Danville Interior Design Gallery in Danville, California, to choose the soft, versatile look of Alouette louvers for 23 windows of the Livermore, California, house featured on the show. "The designers were immediately drawn to the innovations of Alouette LightLouvers," said Dawn. "They liked that the louvers were light, yet highly functional with the light control of a blind, and how the treatment literally floated in the window. They also wanted something that was versatile enough to work throughout the house for a consistent look," she added.
Proper Care of Alouette® LightLouvers Most soft alternative window treatments do not require frequent cleaning. A light dusting on a regular basis will keep them looking new for years. Ultrasonic cleaning: Professional ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for Alouette® LightLouvers. Vacuuming: For deeper cleaning, vacuum gently with a brush attachment of any vacuum cleaner. Hair dryer (non-heat setting): Use to blow dust off selected window coverings. Spot-cleaning: Spot-clean Alouette® LightLouvers with soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water. Add mild detergent if needed. Blot gently to avoid creasing or damaging the fabric. Rubbing can damage fabrics. Avoid dry cleaning. On-site injection/extraction cleaning system: This type of cleaning injects a cleaning solution into the fabric and extracts the dirty solution in the same motion.
